You enjoy candy bars. You appreciate drink bars. But have you ever witnessed a mash-up of the two in the most fantastical of holiday-themed displays? This season, we’d like to introduce to you the party idea to end all parties (or, you know, start them) — the Beverage Buffet Station! From martinis to margaritas, hot chocolate to champagne, read on for recipes to help you create scrumptious candy-bedecked cocktails (and nonalcoholic versions, as well)! Plus, check out our photo gallery for more images.
Peppermint Coffee and Cream (or Hot Chocolate!)
Warm up those winter months with a delicious hot chocolate or spiked warm beverage (remember to pick liqueurs that pair nicely with the taste of peppermint for this one)! First, pour a pile of crushed peppermint pieces into a bowl or plate large enough to fit the rim of your glass. Dip the top of your glass into water or a bit of simple syrup (for a stickier alternative), then submerge the top into the crushed peppermint. Now you’ve got a mint-tastic rim! Pour the beverages of your choice into the cup (we like to use hot chocolate. For an alcoholic version, try adding a dash of Baileys Irish Cream, Kahlúa, or Peppermint Schnapps!). Finally, top it all off with a peppermint stick for mixing and a candy garnish curl for the finishing touch!
The Sweetest ‘Rita
Pour colorful candy sprinkles into a glass bowl or pile them onto a plate large enough to account for the size of the glass’s rim. Dip the top of your glass into water or a bit of simple syrup (for a stickier alternative), then gently twirl the rim through the pile of sprinkles (we like festive reds and greens!) until it is evenly coated in colorful sugars. Next, pour a hearty serving of the fruity drink of your choice, whether it be a mixed margarita or more kiddie-friendly punch. To complete the ensemble, make a small slice in a Fruit Candy Jell of your choice, then fit it nicely onto the glass’s rim. Add a colorful Rock Candy Swizzle Stick for an extra delicious presentation!
The Candied Martini
If you like the taste of sugar (and let’s be real, who doesn’t?) why not nix the olive juice and accentuate your martini with something sweet instead! Real olives look nice, but they’re not going to provide the flavor we want. Get adventurous with these Pimento Olive Chocolate Covered Almonds. They look the part, but don’t fall for their facade — one bite will prove that these guys are actually rich almonds covered in sweet white chocolate! For an extra touch of class, be sure to finish off the masterpiece with a colorful garnish… a Fruit Candy Jell Slice!
Crystal Champagne (and Cider!)
Here’s a super sweet and simple way to add extra sophistication to an elegant drink! Drop a couple of these sugar-free Diamond Candy Gems into a champagne glass, and then pour in the bubbly of your choice! (Apple cider works for a fun, alcohol-free take on this sweet presentation.) Cheers!
For the simplest way to get festive with your drinks, try a couple of these Peppermint Shot Glasses on for size! Pour any liquor of your choice into one of these delights… drink it fast, and chase the shot with a bite of your glass! It’s made entirely of sweet peppermint hard candy, after all.
Remember, nothing says “Happy holidays” like a good beverage and sweet, sweet candy, so get creative! For inspiration, here are the products we used in designing our own drink station. Enjoy!
