In the 1800s, the US Government set aside the third Monday of the month of February in recognition of George Washington’s birthday. Over time, the holiday has grown to become a widely accepted acknowledgement of all presidents, current and past. So this February, why not commemorate the date by perfecting your own rendition of “Hail to the Chief” and enjoying some Star Spangled sweets? Plus, with the winter Olympics right around the corner, there’s never been a better time to celebrate the good ol’ US of A!
Get your patriot on with some scrumptious red, white, and blue sweets! Start out by admiring these delicious, fruit-flavored Jelly Beans, festooned in the shades of Old Glory. You can almost hear these Freedom Bears hum “Yankee Doodle” as they brighten up your candy bowls with their trio of cheery, all-American hues. Remember to round out the buffet with some perfectly pepperminty Star-Spangled Taffy and watch your guests swell with patriotic pride.
Of course, there’s no better way to show off a love for your country than by inviting a few past presidents along to your party! And though the Bushes, Obama, Clinton, and Carter are all probably busy with their own arrangements this holiday, we know a few fun fellows who are more than willing to show up! If you’ve got an admiration for Honest Abe, an appreciation for Teddy Roosevelt, or just a soft spot for good ol’ Millard Fillmore, then check out the Presidential PEZ! These highly esteemed “PEZ-idents” will dispense the wisdom of our country’s forefathers along with all that tasty candy!
